7.x: (Mantis) "EXMLRPCError: SOAP-ENV:Server: Object of class SoapFault could not be converted to int" error

Problem:

Almost any attempt to use Mantis fails when executing the mc_issue_add SOAP command with "EXMLRPCError: SOAP-ENV:Server: Object of class SoapFault could not be converted to int" error.

 

Reason:

This is a known bug in Mantis.

 

Solution:

A). Update Mantis to the latest version.

B). Check server logs to learn real error from SoapFault object (for example, category name may be empty, but Mantis does not allow empty category).
